"Sounds like an opera, but looks like a play...If this is any indication of the direction of Loose Tea in the future – you’ll want to see what they come up with next" Michael Vincent, Musical Toronto

We do this by retaining the music of the original works but rework the original story so that it resonates with issues of today, by creating a new English libretto, and add additional dialouge in order to allow for greater character development. This creates a new form of opera that we call a opera/theatre hybrid. It is our intent to challenge, motivate, and inspire our audience through the mediums of music, opera and theatre in a way that is approachable, understandable and
Loose TEA is an opera company for the 21st century that is followed by a new generation of opera goers.
"Loose Tea Music Theatre casts a disproportionately long artistic shadow. Anarchic, irreverent, Dissociative Me is a prime example of what makes this compact company well worth watching. This is high stakes opera built on a gamble. Viau and company have taken a huge risk renovating a formidable work with Faust’s sprawling dimensions. And yet, against enormous odds, they have prevailed. Dissociative Me is a winner." Opera Going Toronto
"The result is an entertaining psychological thriller that doesn’t shy away from having fun. The characters take selfies, sing Justin Beiber tunes, hang out in bars and order honey cappuccinos at Starbucks" Michael Vincent
