Liederwölfe brings opera to new audiences by taking it out of the concert halls and bringing it to music-lovers on their own terms. Their newest project, Opera Peep Show, serves up bite-sized moments of opera in a party atmosphere- where the curious can sample the best opera companies in the city - with a drink in hand.
Recent winner of the #LeanArts pilot program, Liederwölfe began as an experimental opera collective in Montreal, focused on improving audience experience to engage new audiences. The first group to produce opera in a bar, they have been interviewed on CBC's Q and featured in international press for this groundbreaking work.
Liederwölfe collaborates with well-known indie-rock musicians. They presented a brand-new opera based on the web-comic “Dinosaur Comics” at the Pop Montreal festival. They have also performed at NXNE and the Francofolies, where they collaborated with the well-known Francophone band Malajube and the metal band Voivod.
